Dr. Seetha Veeraghanta receives Ethics in Education Award

Headshot of Dr. Seetha Veeraghanta

Please join the Office of Undergraduate Studies in congratulating Dr. Seetha Veeraghanta for being a recipient of this year's Ethics in Education Award. The Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at the University of Utah seeks to strengthen the teaching of principle-based ethics, promotes the practical application of ethics-based principles in the curriculum, provides student opportunities to practice ethical leadership and ethical decision-making, and engages the business community.  The awards are given to faculty and/or staff members who significantly enhance the teaching of ethics in their classes and/or engage with student organizations to foster the involvement of students in ethical issues. In each case, the award recognizes the contribution to ethics education both inside and outside of the classroom.  Thank you to Seetha for her work in developing the Social and Ethical Implications in Engineering course (E-LEAP, LEAP 1501, BF) and for her commitment to a nuanced consideration of the ethical issues involved in engineering decisions.

She will be recognized at the David Eccles School of Business awards ceremony on Thursday, May 5th at 2PM with a plaque and medallion in recognition of her contributions to the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative and ethics education at the University of Utah.
