Dr. Lauren Aimonette Liang Appointed as Director of QUEST Program

Dr. Lauren Aimonette Liang

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Lauren Aimonette Liang has joined the Office of Undergraduate Studies (US) as the director of the new QUEST program.

Dr. Liang, an associate professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Utah, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this role. Her research and teaching focus on the selection and educational use of children’s and adolescent literature, and she has made significant contributions to the field through her numerous publications.

Dr. Liang has held leadership roles in international literacy education and children’s literature organizations and served on several prestigious children’s literature award committees. Her dedication to education and leadership has been recognized with multiple awards, including at the University of the Utah both the Early Career Teaching Award and the University Professorship.

The QUEST program, a successor to the LEAP Learning Communities program, is designed to help students navigate their first year of college by providing an intentional experience of self-reflection on what it means to be a human in a dynamic world. The program will target “exploring” (without a declared major) first-year and transfer students, facilitating their success by creating a learning community of belonging while developing a strong sense of character.
