Academic Advising Updates

As part of our ongoing efforts to enhance student success, we’re excited to share updates on the reorganization of the Academic Advising Center. In September 2024, we announced the Academic Advising Center’s (AAC) transition to the Navigate Hub for Exploring Students, led by Julia Vincent. This Navigate Hub continues to focus on students who are exploring their academic pathways to major declaration.

In addition to this transition, we have established a new unit, Office for Campus Advising Solutions (CAS), led by Ashley Glenn. This unit will oversee the continued development of coordinated campus-wide advisor training and oversight of standards in collaboration with the Academic Advising Standards Council. Additionally, CAS will provide strategic support to students at pivotal moments along the paths to completion.

Campus Advising Solutions will include:

• Academic Standards
• Milestone Advising
• Early Engagement in Advising
• Campuswide Training and Development
• PreProfessional Advising Coordination

This student-centered redesign aligns with the U’s commitment to ensure all students have an exceptional educational experience with streamlined access to key resources through the Navigate U shared responsibility framework.

PreProfessional Advising update:

During these transitions, we anticipate potentially longer wait times to meet with PreProfessional Advisors. To address this, drop-in Advising sessions will be available from January 1–10 led by PreProfessional Advisors and staff within the Navigate Hub for Exploring Students. We encourage students to take advantage of these sessions for timely guidance.
