Quinna Nguyen
Quinna Nguyen is a graduating electrical engineering major at the U. As a self-described
“bouncy ball,” Nguyen is both resilient and bubbly. During her undergraduate studies,
she collaborated with several programs, discovering her passion for research and the
STEM field.
Nguyen took advantage of the Office of Undergraduate Research, Academic Advising/Navigate
Hub, and LEAP during her time at the U. She shared that these programs helped her
develop socially and enhanced her leadership skills.
Nguyen was also part of the ACCESS Scholars, a program for first-year STEM students.
She said that the program focused on young women in research and that she met knowledgeable
individuals who introduced her to the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program.
During her time at the university, two mentors stood out to Nguyen: Dr. Seetha Veeraghanta
and Dr. Daniel Drew. She shared how their care and support helped her navigate challenges
during her undergrad. They opened her eyes to her own capabilities, especially in
the realm of research and technology.
Nguyen's journey at the U was about taking risks for anything she wanted to achieve.
This is something she encourages all students to try—because they never know what
might happen.
