Preparing for Strong Start

Strong Start is for admitted first-year students at the University of Utah. Once you have been accepted to the program (all students will be notified May 1, 2026), please complete the following steps as soon as possible to secure your participation and prepare for the program.

Housing
Strong Start students will live together at Lassonde Studios during the Summer 2026 program. Located in the heart of campus, Lassonde offers a vibrant residential community designed to support innovation, collaboration, and student success.LEARN MORE HERE

Orientation Requirements

Strong Start participants must register for and attend a designated Utah Bound Orientation together as a cohort on Tuesday,June 16, 2026.LEARN MORE HERE

 Financial Aid

FAFSA completion is strongly recommended.

To be eligible for financial aid for the Strong Start Summer Bridge Program, students should complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA. This is different from the 2026-2027 FAFSA used for fall enrollment.

Other Pre-Program Checklist Items

While not all checklists are detailed on the Strong Start page, students should be prepared to complete standard university requirements such as housing agreements, health and emergency contact forms, and other campus onboarding tasks.
